About
Chief Cornerstone Carpentry is a Downtown Brooklyn based millwork studio specializing in custom built ins, architectural cabinetry, and integrated storage systems for New York City interiors.
We collaborate with designers, architects, and private clients to develop site specific millwork that is proportionally resolved, materially intentional, and built to endure. Each project is treated as an architectural component of the interior. Never decorative. Never improvised.
Our work spans custom libraries, kitchens, wardrobes, banquettes, and integrated storage systems that must align precisely with existing conditions and adjacent finishes.
We operate at the intersection of design intent and fabrication discipline. Careful coordination, measured documentation, and controlled execution ensure that what is conceived on paper translates cleanly into the built environment.
Tight tolerances, restrained detailing, and material integrity are not upgrades. They are baseline standards.
Chief Cornerstone Carpentry is led by founder Valan Paul, whose background in high tolerance finish carpentry informs the studio’s measured and fabrication driven approach.
Our Approach
Thoughtful planning and disciplined execution define our work. Beyond material selection, we focus on proportion, fit, and integration. Every built in, cabinet, and storage system is fabricated and installed with attention to clean lines, tight reveals, and long term durability. Precision is not an add on. It is the standard.
